Privacy Policy
If you're here, you must really love privacy policies. Finally, someone is actually reading it! We don't sell your data, we just require a privacy policy. Just like our Terms and Conditions, we want to keep this straightforward. We aren't interested in hoarding your data or doing anything dodgy with it. This policy explains what information we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it safe.
On The Map is a trading name of The Cafe Specialists Ltd (The Cafe Specialists Ltd, trading as On The Map). In this policy, "we", "us", "our" and "On The Map" all refer to The Cafe Specialists Ltd. By using our website (onthemap.ie) and services, you're agreeing to how we handle your info as outlined below.
1. What we collect (and why)
- Contact info: your name, email, and phone number, so we can actually talk to you.
- Business details: your business' name, website, and social media handles, so we can find you.
- Access data: if you give us the keys to your Google Business Profile, website or social accounts, we use that strictly to perform the services you've paid for.
- Payment info: this is handled securely via our third-party payment processors (like Stripe etc). We don't see or store your full bank details ourselves.
2. What we do with your data
- Aim to achieve the results we promised.
- Send you invoices and updates on your rankings.
- Improve our website experience.
- Hopefully add you as a case study or list you as a client of ours who got great results (social media/case studies) as mentioned in our T&Cs — unless you ask us not to, which is grand!
3. We don't sell your data
We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal info to third parties. The only people who see your data are:
- Our team: only those who need it to work on your account.
- Trusted tools: third-party apps we use to run the business (like email providers or reporting software), e.g. Gmail.
- The law: in the very unlikely event that we are legally required to hand over info to the authorities in the Republic of Ireland, we have to comply.
4. Cookies
Our website or website provider could have cookies — the annoying kind, not the delicious kind. You can block them in your browser settings if you'd like. We don't sell or do anything with that data either.
5. Security
We take security seriously. We use industry-standard tech to keep your data protected. However, the internet is a wild place, and no system is 100% unhackable. While we do our absolute best to protect your info, we can't guarantee its absolute security against every possible glitch etc.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask us what info we have on you.
- Ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data (we might need to keep some for legal/tax reasons if you've been a client).
